In Chapter 3 of Call of the Sea, players encounter one of the most intriguing and multi-layered challenges in the game known as the organ puzzle. Set near the shipwreck of the Lady Shannon, this obstacle requires gathering several environmental clues, understanding sound frequencies, and adjusting mechanical controls. Successfully activating the stone organ opens the path forward into the island's deeper mysteries.

Gathering the Frequency and Keyboard Clues

The first step toward solving the organ puzzle involves restoring power to the surrounding camp and exploring the nearby tents. Inside a small cave, Norah discovers a mini piano device alongside a slide projector. By testing the keys and examining the floating rock resonance puzzle, players obtain three critical frequency numbers and map them to specific ancient symbols.

These initial musical clues form the core foundation needed to configure the main instrument later on. Norah automatically records these notes in her journal, allowing players to reference them easily throughout the sequence. Ensuring that all three frequency numbers match their corresponding key symbols is essential before moving to the next stage.

Accounting for Tides and Lunar Phases

The organ mechanism is heavily influenced by environmental factors such as tide levels and moon cycles. Players must inspect the water-level mark located on the stone stairs near the main pit. Viewing the matching slide in the projector reveals how the changing tide shifts the required symbols for the organ pipes.

Additionally, the calendar found behind the ship confirms the current date, which dictates the correct moon phase setting. The central dial on the organ pedestal must be rotated to align with the new moon symbol. Combining the shifted symbol readings with the proper moon alignment ensures the mechanism responds correctly.

Adjusting the Valves and Activating the Organ

Once all clues are translated, players head over to the large organ pipes situated by the water. Out of the seven available pipes, only the three valves that correspond to the adjusted symbols should be opened. The remaining four valves must remain completely closed to maintain proper pressure.

With the three correct valves set and the central moon wheel properly positioned, interacting with the main activation button triggers the ancient machinery. A successful configuration causes the resonant tones to ring out, solving the chapter's major puzzle and granting access to the next stage of the expedition.
